Title- Amores de mercado
Date/Time- 5/22/2011, 11 pm
Characters- Fernando (Mauricio Islas), Lucia (Paola Rey ),  Diego (Michel Brown)
-I thought this show was about how Diego and Lucia were lovers but for some reason they couldn't be together and everything was really dramatic. I didn't really understand what was going on most of the time, but it seemed like every character in the show had problems and they were trying to solve their problems. I thought this show was pretty interesting but I couldn't really get into it that much because I just simply couldn't understand what they were talking about. I understood kind of what they were doing only because of body gestures and facial expressions. I don't know if I fully grasped the plot of the show, but some of it made sense to me.

This video was made by some students who made a parody of a music video called "I'm on a Boat." The video teaches about informal commands and the kids did a really good job. They explained how to conjugate words and they provided other important information about informal commands. I thought that the video was really good and it was pretty funny also. They did a good job of explaining what they were talking about while still keeping the video entertaining. I think I could learn from a video like this because it kept my attention and it could be a fun way to learn. I would watch videos like this to enhance my learning because its a lot better than sitting in class and learning about stuff.

The country I chose was Guatemala. Some of the things I would see include people who are descendants of indigenous Mayan peoples, a very beautiful geography which consists of mountains and a fertile coastal plain region. Some places where I would go include: the Prana Holistic Center because Prana is the only Holistic Center in La Antigua Guatemala. They offer more then 20 different alternative therapies. They also provide Nia, Yoga and Art workshops. Another place I would go would be the National Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology because this museum houses a vast collection of exquisite Maya artifacts displayed in the different halls: the archaeology section has objects from the Preclassic Period, The Classic Period, The Post-Classic and an ethnology section that shows linguistic Maya groups, textiles and traditions. I think I would need about $20,000 just to be safe incase I need to get bailed out of jail or something of that nature. The monetary system of Guatemala is decimal based, with the primary unit of Guatemalan money being called the Guatemalan Quetzal. The first restaurant I would go to would be Tua, where I would order some famouse ham and liverwurst. Another restaurant I would visit would be Hacienda Real, where I would order their award-winning steak. The most memorable thing would be watching all the spicy guatemalan girls walk around on the beach on a steamy, sun shining day. I would probably benefit from learning about the history of the places I want to go because  it is vital that I don't look like a complete newby. I would go with my pops. The exchange rate is 7.55796 . This isn't bad so my money would go further.

The poet I chose was Pablo Neruda. The poem I chose is called, A Lemon. This poem was about how majestic lemons are and how they possess a magical tastiness and how they are an elegant part of nature. I think this poet really liked lemons and it was very inspiring to my soul to know that. I found this poem on poemhunter.com.

The singer I chose was Shakira. She is from Colombia. The type of music that she sings is Latin pop. I have heard of her before because she's pretty famous and she is veryyyyyyyyyyy  attractive. I don't like her music because it is kind of weak but i do enjoy some of her music videos.

I thought that this video showed a lot of stereotypes that we see today. I think that most people are influenced by what they see in movies and in the media in general. I also think that im guilty of having different standards for a population in general then for the people I know. I think that this video proves that we believe everything we see on television and everything we hear. Stereotyping began a long time ago and people are still doing it today, myself included, because of things that we see in the media.

This article is about how the number of monarch Butterflies in Mexico has increased this year after a 75 percent drop last year. Last year there were only 4.7 acres of colonies, the lowest since 1993. This year there were 9.9 acres of colonies, more than double the amount from last year. Despite the rebound experienced by this mysterious scientific phenomenon the latest numbers are well below the almost 20 acres covered in the 2008-09 winter season and the record high of 45 acres in 1996-97. Fluctuations in butterfly populations are normal and scientists say that the climate conditions are to blame for these recent fluctuations. I thought this article was very interesting because I've always been a butterfly lover and I had no idea that this was going on. I think this event could effect me because if butterflies go extinct then I don't know what I would do with myself. Also, I think if butterflies died out then it would suck a lot of happiness out of the world.
